Description

Forgefix Pronged T Nuts are a simple and effective product, offering bolting capability into various soft substrates. They are Zinc Plated for increased resistance to corrosion.

APPLICATION:
Used widely in the soft furnishing trades where strong timber connection is required. Also extensively used in Playground and Climbing Wall manufacturing.

GUIDE:
Use 6mm bolt with M6 and 8mm bolt with M8 T-Nuts. When installing the T-Nut tap home and the sharp fins pierce the substrate and fix the T-Nut firmly in place avoiding any rotation when tightening. The T-nuts can be used with many bolting products.

A T-nut, (also known as a Blind nut) is a type of nut used to fasten a wood, particle or composite materials work piece, leaving a flush surface. It has a long, thin body and a flange at one end, resembling a T in profile. The flanges of T-Nuts often have hooks or serrations on the prongs that sink into a wooden work piece, providing better retention.

Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate€™s surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminium and stainless steels by their oxide layers.
